Maddy Hamilton

Originally from Milton Keynes, Maddy Hamilton enjoys a vibrant and varied career as a Cellist. Maddy has a long-standing passion for education, working in a wide array of settings from individual teaching, orchestral and chamber coaching, all the way to large-scale collaborative projects. Over the years, Maddy has mentored and assisted for the Junior Trinity department, Milton Keynes Music Cooperative, The Lydian Training Orchestra as well as Trinity Laban’s top-tier community outreach programme, Animate Artists.
In addition to her work in education, Maddy is kept busy as a performer which takes her across the country as well as abroad. She has performed at many prestigious venues including the Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre and Birmingham Symphony Hall, with various orchestras and ensembles of different genres and styles. A recent highlight was performing with the Taki Concordia Orchestra under Marin Alsop at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Maddy is also keen session musician and enthusiastic for new and contemporary music styles. Over the years Maddy has worked closely with various composers and songwriters, writing, recording and performing new music, which has taken her from Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival to Abbey Road Studios. She currently studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music under the guidance of Joely Koos and previously Naomi Butterworth.
