Micah Baker

Micah Baker is a drummer, percussionist and composer originally from Bedfordshire.

He moved to London to study BMus in Classical percussion and drum kit at Trinity Laban, for which he received first class honours. Micah is a multi disciplined musician, having experience as drummer in rock, swing, and r&b bands from a young age and has since become proficient in orchestral and tuned percussion, world percussion, jazz drums and vibraphone, and composition. He recently completed a masters degree in jazz (percussion and drums) at Guildhall School and learned alongside some of the UK’s greatest jazz musicians. As a freelance musician in London, Micah plays drums for a commercial brass group and various theatre companies, is percussionist and founder of the award winning duo CYMBIOSIS, percussionist for The National Youth Jazz Orchestra, London-based Afro band The Amalgam, and many more.

With the above he has performed at venues across the country including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Kings Place, King’s Cross as well as performing internationally.

Having educated young drummers and musicians since 2018 both privately and in schools, Micah has plenty of experience at helping aspiring musicians achieve their true creative potential.
