Iris Rushbrooke
Iris plays both the trumpet and piano. She recently finished studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire and is now currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music.
She began playing both instruments from a young age and her passion for music has developed into a career of performing and teaching. Iris has performed in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, Southwark Cathedral, St John's Smith Square, St Alfege Church, and the Old Royal Naval College Chapel. She is a part of brass quintet 'Amphion Brass', who won the Trinity Laban Philip Jones Brass Ensemble Prize in both 2023 and 2024, as well as becoming runner's up of the Philip Carne Chamber Competition in July 2024.
Iris has taken part in various musical outreach projects with primary schools across London, Dover and Deal since 2021, encouraging young people to pick up an instrument and begin a love of music through playing. As well as classical music, Iris enjoys listening to many other genres, such as jazz, contemporary, soul and rock music. She enjoys teaching students of all ages and abilities, creating a fun and inspiring atmosphere for students to enjoy learning and developing as musicians.
