I've made music for primetime TV shows on BBC 1, BBC 2, Channel 4 and Channel 5 (with credits including The Apprentice and The Secret Life of 6 Year Olds), and have orchestrated films including SCOOP (Netflix), and BUMBLEBEE (Paramount Pictures).
I also dabble in concert music; was winner of the National Music For Youth Composition Prize and have since had my music premiered at the Royal Albert Hall, The Southbank Centre, The Lincoln Centre, on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 6, have been an associate composer of the London Symphony Orchestra, and was the 2019 young composer in residence with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. My scores for theatre have been heard at Sheffield Crucible, Bristol Old Vic, York Theatre Royal, Leeds Playhouse and many more.
As a teacher I have 15 years experience teaching guitar/piano/composition/theory to students ranging from 4 - 80 years old. I have taken students from absolute beginners all the way through to their Grade 8 classical exams, learn to compose and improvise, and have helped students to write, perform, and record their own songs. I have had the rewarding experience of seeing many students go on to have illustrious careers as jazz musicians, composers, and producers. I allow students to guide lessons according to their interests, but am a firm believer in rigorous lesson and practice structure no matter whether they’re doing classical grades or learning pop songs.
