María José Andrade is a British-Chilean theatre director. Her work moves across theatre, performance, music and sound experimentation. She has taught and mentored young people in organisations such as Kazzum Arts and Pzazz in London and at John Muir School in California, USA. She sings and plays the guitar and has a passion for Latin American folk rhymes and tunes.  

Children’s curiosity is my main inspiration for building fun sessions that allow for active discovery and experimentation. 

Directing work includes The Boy at Soho Theatre (2023) Mental at Greenwich Theatre (2023) Father Project at Gate Theatre (WIP, 2021) Last Rehearsal at Theatre Deli (2020), Faces in the Crowd at the Gate Theatre (Assistant Director to Ellen McDougall, 2020), La Jana at Roundhouse (2019), Last Rehearsal at Brighton Fringe (2019), Kif Kif at New River Studios (2018)  and 8.261 KM at the Saatchi Gallery (2016).
