Illustration for Teens (13-18 yrs)

Welcome to the world of illustration! Over this course, we will look at how illustration is used and explore different styles and techniques. Referencing professional illustrators through the years, we will explore the narrative, decorative and informative aspects of illustration and work on project briefs spanning several weeks. Projects in the past have included graphic novels, destination posters, artists collectable cards and dioramas. We will touch on using various materials such as pen and ink, charcoal, collage, lino print and paint but ultimately, students will have the freedom to choose which materials best suit them. This course is designed to help young people use their creativity to express their voice, give power to their messages, gain confidence, and have fun!
