Landscape Painting
18+; Tuesdays 13.15 - 15.45
22nd April - 15th July (12 weeks, £294) The aim of this course is to develop drawing and painting skills when working outside directly from landscape. We will be working outside in locations in Blackheath and Greenwich which offers an amazing variety of landscape subjects. The first sessions will concentrate on drawing and techniques useful for landscape, with a theme addressed each week, such as composition, perspective, proportion, light. Later this will lead into painting techniques and use of colour such as colour mixing, brushwork and washes. Some sessions will take place in the studio to consolidate and extend these projects, but most will take place off site in various locations local to Blackheath and Greenwich. Please therefore come prepared to be outside for the sessions. Your first session will take place at the Conservatoire. We will look at work by painters of landscape and a range of methods will be demonstrated. This course is for both beginners and experienced students.
