Oran Cooch
Oran Cooch is an accomplished drummer, percussionist and artist based in South East London. With over 10 years of playing experience comprising international touring, songwriting and session work, Oran has worked with a wide variety of artists including the Magic Drum Orchestra, nayomhi, BBC Introducing artist, Amelia Rose, and Ann Lui Cannon. Most recently he was behind the kit for Elbow frontman and BBC 6Music host, Guy Garvey, in the Roundhouse (Camden) Main Space. Oran has performed at some of the UK’s top music festivals and venues including WOMAD, The Great Escape Festival, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club and The Fleece, Bristol.
As both a musician and multi-media artist, Oran studied at Leeds College of Art and has had his artwork exhibited in the Saatchi Gallery, London and the Royal Academy Online Exhibition.
Playing a number of percussion instruments, Oran frequents Irish sessions across London and has played bodhrán/drums with Mick O'Connor, John Gaughan and, Stornoway's, Oli Steadman.
Oran enjoys sharing his extensive knowledge of styles and percussion instruments, developing students into well-rounded and versatile musicians.
