Kay Sandford-Beal to step down as Executive Director
Today the Board of Trustees announces that Kay Sandford-Beal will be stepping down as Executive Director in June 2022. She was recruited on a fixed term basis and has made a significant contribution during her time with The Conservatoire. The Board will be recruiting a new Executive Director in due course, with a view to finalising the appointment in May 2022.
Thea Sakkas, co-chair of the Board, said:
“While the Board are very sorry to say goodbye to Kay, we are hugely grateful to her for the leadership, professionalism and dedication that has gone into successfully navigating the Conservatoire through the pandemic – it is a great achievement. It is a delight to be back in a building that is once again bursting with music, drama, art and creativity, especially at a time when this outlet for people is so desperately needed. Kay has been an inspiring leader, putting collaborative working at the heart of the Conservatoire and her fundraising expertise has been invaluable. She leaves the organisation in a more robust position and we wish her every success for the future.”
Kay Sandford-Beal added
“I am pleased to have had the opportunity to lead such a dedicated, talented and hardworking team, through the unique challenges of the pandemic. I feel very proud of all that we’ve achieved together during my time at the Conservatoire. I feel now is the right time for me to hand the baton on to the next Executive Director – knowing that I leave things on a firmer footing and that there are exciting times ahead for the Conservatoire as it continues to go from strength-to-strength.”
