A look back at an unlikely Summer term...
While it was wonderful to open our doors again to so many of you over the Summer term to enjoy our classes and tuition in person, we were still faced with some challenges to overcome whilst ensuring our building was Covid secure. However, we were determined to give our young artists and performers a chance to showcase their work in a safe environment, and so we did. Here's a look back at some of the great events we were able to host over this past term, and a look ahead to the future!
The Children's Art Exhibition (pictured) was the busiest it's ever been, with queues around the corner for a while due to unprecedented numbers! We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along and waited so patiently so that we could keep it a safe event!
The grown ups had their turn in the Adult Art Showcase, which was a classy affair curated by our own Simon Willems. Thanks to everyone who came along and the artists who submitted work it looked incredible.
Blackheath Youth Theatre also got to perform live for the first time since January 2020, with their outdoor Shakespeare season. Audiences got to see All's Well That Ends Well and Cymbeline performed in rep, and the company did a smashing job. If you know any young actors who'd like to be part of our youth theatre, send them to our website here.
There are also some lovely films going out for our digital Play! Celebration Concert, continuing to take place in the digital realm but just as brilliant - a big congratulations to all of our young musicians for their great work.
