A word from the Principal
The Conservatoire’s winter is always brightened by the annual fundraising quiz put on by local residents to raise money for our outreach and community work. Now in its 25th year, the quiz is a wonderful opportunity for local people to come together to show their support for what we do. Having this level of enthusiasm and support means so much to us, and I’d like to thank Philip and Jean Smith and their army of helpers for continuing to support us. I spoke at the event to outline our current community projects, and the fact that every penny we raise through such events goes direct to supporting individuals and groups who would otherwise not be able to enjoy creative experiences.
The quiz came a day after the latest phase of our work with 18 schools in the Greenwich Community Schools Partnership, with children from nursery to secondary age working together in our wonderful Art Studios on art and drama related to the theme of ‘movement’.
Some of this work will be exhibited at Tate Modern towards the end of March, and we are looking forward to helping these schools develop more innovative and engaging arts curricula over the coming two years.
If you would like to know more about ways in which you can partner with us to support these aspects of our work, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
