Dot Young a Scottish artist, living and working in South London, with her sculpture studio located in Deptford. She studied BA Fine Art, Sculpture in Sheffield, and has an MA in Creative Media Arts from LSBU in London.

As a contemporary sculptor she engages with both new technologies and traditional sculptural techniques. Her practice currently explores and celebrates the intricacies and complexities of natural life forms whilst also highlighting the ever increasing threats to the environment. 

As a freelance practitioner in the arts she has worked extensively both in the UK and internationally, undertaking arts projects and running creative workshops in the Caucasus, Russia; Abu Dhabi, Sharjah & Dubai, UAE; Madrid, Las Palmas & Caceres, Spain and as a freelance practitioner in Zimbabwe, South Africa and throughout Europe with Clients including the Womad Foundation and Oxfam International. 

In addition to her own creative practice, Dot has a passion for working with, and engaging local communities in the arts, running sculptural workshops and classes with organisations such as AFRIL, Action for Refugees in Lewisham, Young Carers in Woking in liaison with the Light Box Gallery, adult learners at City Lit, degree students at RCSSD, and has created experiential sculptural work with MagicMe for dementia residents in London care homes.
