Our Teachers

Jue Huang

Jue Huang gained her Bachelor's degree at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, after which a scholarship brought her to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to study with Ronan O'Hora. Having completed her Master's degree, she was subsequently awarded a prestigious Junior Fellowship in Chamber Music to continue her studies at the GSMD. Jue is the recipient of many prizes and awards, including a Myra Hess Trust Award, the Ivan Sutton Chamber Music Prize, and the Brant International Piano Competition.

As a soloist and chamber musician, Jue has given numerous concerts at venues such as Symphony Hall Birmingham, Fairfield Hall, and the Royal Albert Hall, at which she gave the UK premiere of Hosokawa's Vertical Time Study II for Piano, Clarinet and Cello at the BBC Proms, broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Jue performs frequently in China, and highlights include a chamber music tour of seven cities, including Beijing, with her piano trio, and the Chinese Premiere of Finzi's Eclogue as a soloist with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, broadcast live on national TV and radio as part of the British Composers Series.
