Jeremy Lowe
Music

Jeremy studied clarinet at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Yona Ettlinger, Julian Farrell and John Reynolds.  He later studied building and repairing clarinets with Ted Planas, extending clarinets for performances and recordings of the Mozart clarinet concerto for many established players.

Jeremy also added saxophone to his repertoire and has played and taught both instruments for many years.  He has played with a wide variety of orchestras and ensembles, including playing principal clarinet with Western Sinfonia for ten years up to 1997.  He also plays in a clarinet and piano duo, giving regular concerts and recitals of both well-known and unfamiliar pieces.  The duo has also commissioned and gave the premier performance of Philip Sawyer’s Sonata for basset horn and piano.

Having taught both clarinet and saxophone at a variety of schools, including City of London School and St Mary’s Primary, Eltham, Jeremy currently teaches at the Conservatoire, Blackheath, Lingfield College, Copthorne Prep and Chjslehurst and Sidcup Grammar School.

Other interests include architecture, taking the RIBA Part 1 at the University of Greenwich
