Our Teachers

James Waters

I think it is the diversity in my life so far which has enabled me to develop my unique way of teaching. I was interested in sports and the arts from a young age and started Irish Step Dancing when I was six years old, and by the age of ten was ranked fourth in the world. I then went on to train as a gymnast and by the age of 16 was a member of the Boys Gymnastic Squad for England. By the time I was 21 I'd completed musical theatre training and begun working professionally. I have appeared in the West End, at the Royal Shakespeare Company and in many television and film productions. My teaching career began by pure chance after taking a sabbatical to train as a director and I have never looked back. I set up Pressplay Productions in 2005 and have been delivering circus workshops to numerous corporate and educational organisations ever since. I never imagined creating an environment where children, youths and adults could play, fail, win, show off, be creative, be ridiculous and begin to realise the processes involved in learning new skills, would be so rewarding.
