Our Teachers

Emily Pringle


Emily Pringle started violin lessons with Sheila Nelson when she was four. She learned with Pauline Scott whilst at the Purcell School and with Diana Cummings at the Royal Academy of Music (RAM) and then at Trinity College of Music. At the RAM she led the Eberle String Quartet, which won the John B McEwan Prize and the Sir John Barbirolli Memorial Prize. With the Quartet she participated in many masterclasses, including the International Musicians seminar at Prussia Cove. Whilst at Trinity College she was a member of the prize-winning Chimera String Quartet and also won second prize in the Gladys Puttick Extemporization competition. She performs regularly as a recitalist and chamber musician.
