Our Teachers

Dimitrios Ntontis

Dimitrios Ntontis has German and Greek roots and was born in Munich, where he later was
trained in Audio Engineering and Composition. He then studied Music Education at the
Conservatory in Vienna, where he also received training in classical repertoire and
composition, ethnomusicology as well as electro-acoustic music, obtaining a BA (Hons) in
Music Education. Since then, he has been teaching the guitar, piano and ukulele and held
several workshops for bands, music production and film music for children.
He attended the Royal College of Music’s renowned Composition for Screen programme
and completed his Master of Music with Distinction in 2015. He has worked as an assistant
for various German film composers and now works as a freelance composer for film and
media in London. He composed the music for several films, animations, documentaries,
theatre performances and video art installations in the UK, Germany, Austria and Korea. His
work has been premiered at festivals like the Palm Springs International Film Festival and the
Berlin Short Film Festival and his clients include the BBC, ABC network and German
broadcaster ARD.
He also loves pizza and has an obsession with colourful jumpers and rare records from the
70s.
