Beth Higham-Edwards

Beth Higham-Edwards is a versatile percussionist who enjoys performing in a range of styles. She
is currently performing in Amadeus at the National Theatre. Beth is a founding member of the all
female percussion quartet, Beaten Track Ensemble who have appeared on BBC Radio Three
twice this year and completed a number of performances at the Tate Modern’s Calder Exhibition
Performing Sculptures 2015/16. Beth often collaborates with composers and enjoys playing new
works. Recent collaborations include working with composer Anna Meredith and young female
composers for BBC Proms Learning (broadcast for BBC Radio 3 international women’s day 2016),
performing as part of 2015 Strive Festival at the Southbank Centre, in the production ‘Tales from
the Ditch’ directed by Alan Gilbey as part of Spitalfields Music Winter Festival 2014 and as a soloist
in the 2013 BCMG concert series premiering a new work by columbian composer Jorge Garcia
Moncada with Birmingham Electroacoustic Sound Theatre. Session work includes Alt J’s number
one selling second album ‘This is All Yours’ and playing cajon for the sample library Spitfire. Beth
regularly plays in orchestras and has appeared with the London Chamber Orchestra, Docklands
Sinfonia, London Graduate Orchestra, YMSO and BBC Proms Youth Ensemble. Beth plays with
Parallax Orchestra and recently performed with metal band Bring Me The Horizon at their Teenage
Cancer Trust concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
Beth is also a workshop facilitator and educator. She has recently worked with the Wigmore Hall,
London Chamber Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra, London Music Masters, Creative Futures and Town
Hall Symphony Hall Birmingham. Beth trained as a Trainee Music Leader with Spitalfields Music
2014-15.
