Our Teachers

Alison Evans

Alison Evans studied piano with Marjorie Hazlehurst in Birmingham and Stephen Coombs in London.  She graduated from Oxford and is a freelance chamber musician and piano teacher. Currently she specialises in accompaniment, but her background encompasses a wide range of musical activity. In other roles, she has worked for the Barbican Centre and two major symphony orchestras, and for the Lost Musicals series at the Barbican and in the West End. She now teaches at the Conservatoire and privately in South East London.

If Alison were stranded on a desert island, she would like to have with her:
Ravel’s Introduction and Allegro for Harp, Flute, Clarinet and String Quartet
Stephen Sondheim’s Company
Chopin’s Fourth Ballade

"I love to teach because I learn such a lot!"
